Looking for your next ride because you have to go back to commuting for work?

Well, if you sold your car and need to get a new one, get into gear with vehicle ads on Google as you search for something that's good on gas—these gas prices are insane right now.

Phone Showing Cars for Sale and Their Location as Google Search Introduces Vehicle Ads
Google is helping advertisers in the auto industry get more eyeballs on this vertical ad format, which seems to be Google's go-to presentation style these days.

Google stated that 89% of car buyers do their research online, and they're seeing more people buying vehicles online as well. Compared to last year, Google found that 16% of people bought their car on the web.

So what can we expect in this new type of ad?

For the consumer, if you search for a 2020 SUV, you'll see where it's located, the costs, the condition, how many miles are on it, and this is all viewable on the search results page. This feature is only available in the US as of now.

Now, for the advertisers, you would need to "create a vehicle inventory data feed and connect it to [the] Google Merchant Center."

That feed has all the details (inventory, brand, model, price, mileage, and condition) about the vehicle you're selling.

Google will take that data and match it to what searchers are looking for. You can track your inventory and see how your ads are performing on your end.

Google said that advertisers saw a 25% increase in conversions during their beta tests. So it could be successful for you if you're in the business of selling cars.

And with people becoming comfortable with the idea of online car shopping without all the high-pressure sales tactics, then it could be a way to reach them.
