Instagram has made some changes this week, and no, we're not talking about changes to their algorithm. But who knows, they might have tweaked it during the visual refreshing of their brand elements.

Refreshed Instagram Logo as the Company Revamped Visual Brand Elements With New Fonts, Colors and More
Instagram has changed its colors, added a new typeface that comes in different font styles, refreshed its logo, and redesigned other brand assets to bring new energies to the app.

Starting with their new font, the company created their own called: Instagram Open Sans. It was designed using elements Instagram's community sees every day, like the company's logo and wordmark.

The Instagram Open Sans font was also adapted to work with global audiences and the languages they speak. For example, people can write in global scripts such as Arabic, Thai, Korean, and Japanese, to name a few.

Instagram changed its gradient colors using 3D modeling. One of Instagram's designers, Rose Pilkington, "created a digital light that can be customized depending on the application, where the gradient is unique every time it's used."

This cool gradient appears on Instagram's branding and while using the app on things like the rings on Stories or the app's icon. Their new logo is brighter and has more vibrancy with this new color gradient.

Lastly, Instagram has updated its marketing layout and design system to be more "content-forward" to highlight users' creativity and self-expression in a minimal style.

Check out the link above to see all these design changes for yourself. And if Instagram does drop a new algorithm, you'll know if you watch our 3MDD Stories and follow us on the app.
